Emergency Credit is a modern service that provides convenience to customers, although it involves an additional fee at the end of the transaction. This study aims to analyze the types of contracts involved in the practice of purchasing emergency credit and to evaluate the transaction from the perspective of Islamic law, particularly within the framework of fiqh al-mu‘āmalāt, by assessing its compliance with Sharia principles. This research adopts a descriptive-qualitative approach using a literature review method, with a focus on normative analysis. The findings indicate that emergency credit transactions do not fall under the category of riba-based lending. Instead, they are classified as a form of ijarah contract, as they involve the exchange of services or the use of benefits provided by the service provider. This aligns with the principles of ijarah al-manfa‘ah, which is permissible in Islamic commercial jurisprudence. The additional fee in emergency credit can be interpreted as an administrative cost or a service fee, not as interest or unlawful gain. This study also presents a schematic overview of the transaction process, from purchase to repayment, through a fiqhi takyīf (legal characterization) approach. Therefore, the results serve as a valuable reference for regulators, industry practitioners, and academics in ensuring that such practices remain in accordance with Islamic legal principles.
