This research aims to elucidate the methodological implications of Hadith commentators' assertions on theological issues related to faith, using the commentaries on "Mishkat al-Masabih" as an applied case study, restricted to the views of four commentators: al-Samarudi, al-Mubarakfuri, al-Qari, and al-Dahlawi. The research objectives are to reveal the methodological reflections of these commentators in their reasoning, to show the reader the extent of their adherence to or deviation from the methodology of the Salaf, and how close or far their assertions are from correctness. To achieve these objectives, the research employed the inductive method to trace the commentators' assertions, the descriptive-analytical method to explain their implications, and the comparative method to balance between the two schools. The research is organized into four sections addressing: the methodological impact on reasoning, semantic implications of terms, the structure of issues, and stability and consistency. The research concluded with several findings, notably: the methodology of al-Samarudi and al-Mubarakfuri aligns with Ahl al-Sunnah by sufficing with the text and applying words to their literal meanings, resulting in stability and consistency in their assertions. Conversely, al-Qari and al-Dahlawi were influenced by the methodology of the Mutakallimun by resorting to logical deduction, diverting texts from their apparent meanings, and introducing rational sub-categorizations that caused inconsistencies in their assertions. The research contributions to the discipline provide an applied critical study that sets a standard for researchers to sort and scrutinize theological assertions scattered in Hadith commentaries, emphasizing the need to purify Hadith commentaries from scholastic influences that complicate inherited innate meanings.
