ALLEGATIONS OF RESEARCH MISCONDUCT

NUKHBATUL 'ULUM: Jurnal Bidang Kajian Islam is committed to maintaining the integrity, credibility, and ethical standards of scholarly publishing. The journal takes all allegations of research misconduct seriously and follows the guidelines and best practices established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) in handling suspected ethical violations.

The editors and publisher take reasonable steps to identify and prevent the publication of manuscripts involving research misconduct, including but not limited to:

  • plagiarism,
  • self-plagiarism,
  • data fabrication,
  • data falsification,
  • citation manipulation,
  • duplicate publication,
  • peer review manipulation,
  • unethical research practices,
  • authorship manipulation,
  • undisclosed conflicts of interest,
  • and other forms of publication malpractice.

The journal does not encourage, tolerate, or knowingly allow research misconduct or unethical publication practices under any circumstances.

Allegations of misconduct may be raised by authors, reviewers, readers, editors, institutions, or third parties before or after publication.

When an allegation of research misconduct is received, the editorial office will:

  • conduct an initial assessment of the allegation,
  • review the available evidence and documentation,
  • contact the corresponding author for clarification or response,
  • consult editors, reviewers, or independent experts when necessary,
  • and follow relevant COPE flowcharts, recommendations, and ethical procedures.

During the investigation process, the manuscript under review or the published article may be temporarily suspended from editorial processing or publication activities until the matter is resolved.

All investigations will be conducted:

  • fairly,
  • objectively,
  • confidentially,
  • transparently,
  • and without conflicts of interest.

If research misconduct is confirmed, the journal may take appropriate actions, including:

  • rejection of the manuscript,
  • publication of corrections or corrigenda,
  • issuance of an expression of concern,
  • article retraction,
  • removal of published content when necessary,
  • prohibition of future submissions,
  • and notification to the authors’ institutions, funding bodies, or relevant authorities.

Post-publication corrections or retractions will be conducted in accordance with COPE Retraction Guidelines to maintain the integrity of the scholarly record.
